Manatee Hammock Campground

September 5, 2017

We spent our 2017 Labor Day weekend camping at Manatee Hammock for the first time. We had a great time. Although the campground itself is small and the sites close togetherwe really enjoyed the property and the beautiful views it offers. We will definitely stay here again in the future. And this time we’ll bring our kayak! We stayed on site 47 and would highly recommend it. In fact, any of the sites from 43-52 we would recommend. Our kids really enjoyed playing in the small stream that runs behind those sites. The stream fills quickly with rain and adds another natural element. There is also a small field on the other side of the stream that is perfect for football, frisbee, corn hole, or any other out activity.

Notes from Manatee Hammock website:

Manatee Hammock, one of North Brevard’s great natural resources, is a tranquil place to enjoy the canopy of trees and the Indian River Lagoon’s shore with a superb view of rocket launches at Kennedy Space Center. Located on the shore of the Indian River just south of Titusville in Bellwood, this 26.45 acre urban district park features camping and other recreational opportunities. The well-shaded, quiet hammock of pines, palms and foliage, creates an inviting habitat for squirrels, birds, and tropical creatures. The river offers fishing along the banks and from our new fishing pier. A reception center, recreation hall, grill, fire ring, two shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pit, and a pavilion are available for use; a small swimming pool is reserved for campers. A total of 177 camping sites, including 147 full hookup RV sites.
